December Daily #3

Lila + Lincoln love to help do the yard work. Yesterday was beautiful--chilly + beautiful. The twins were helping daddy rake the leaves. Seeing them play in and explore our yard will always be some of our most special memories.

December Daily #2

I'm actually kinda jealous I didn't have a twin growing up.

Nevermind.

I always had Kelsey and she is the best. (I'm not quite sure we could've been closer even if we were twins.)

But being a twin just looks like so much fun. Especially at Christmas time.

Away in the Manger

On this the eve of a most special month, I would like to report that we only have had 1 Baby Jesus related injury in this house. (So far.)

Thus resulting in only 1 time the mama of this house, ahem, shouted: 'WE DO NOT THROW BABY JESUS!' (So far.)

Thus resulting in one time-out for throwing Baby Jesus at her brother. Ahem, LILA! (So far.)

Thus resulting in one small gash on 'her brother's' nose. (So far.)

Wait!!!, it's not even December yet?

Uh-oh!

Happy Birthday Coco!

I had a great idea!

The twins youngest Krug-side cousin turned 2 on Wednesday. So I thought we would go to our favorite cupcake store to get a special treat to celebrate.

Because we missed the party...

...Because they live in California...

...Where it is sunny...

...But, whatever.

Anyway, I had the great idea that we would video us singing to Coco before eating our treat. Check out if my idea was a success. (Hint-It wasn't!) And be sure to enjoy my singing while your at!

So apparently asking my little guy to sit in front of a very special and very rare treat was pure torture.

Hilarious!

By the way, Coco won't be the youngest for long. Kels is just a few weeks away from the arrival of her little brother. Yay! And I'm gonna go down for his birth. Yay! I can't wait. I missed Lucca's birth because I had my hands full with 4 week old twins. I can't wait to love on a new little Chao. Mmmmm! Babies are delicious!

Call Me Crazy

Call me crazy, call me worse even, but we are trying very hard to intstill healthy food habits with our children. It's not as easy as it sounds these days. Even the church nursery offers the crackers I work hard to avoid. No candy, no soda, no juice (yet), organic milk, minimal processed food, + baked sweet potato fries only please. These little turds are only 17 months old. We feel like there is plenty of time for all the junk America has to offer. Not yet twins, not yet.

Crazy, I know. Don't you just wish I was your mom??? Didn't think so. :)

I'm Not Afraid!

I'm never afraid when Brian does this. Never. I actually love to watch him throw those kids in the air. (By the pics, I'm sure it's pretty obvious.) I just love watching the trust the twins have for their daddy. It's the same trust I have in him, and what makes these times so exciting. These are the moments...

Yesterday

Here are some highlights of yesterday--

-Driving around looking for a new park to play at. Play at the new, fun park for about hour.

-Come home for eating + napping.

-Sunshine + blow-up pool in the backyard.

-Popsicles

-Wagon rides

-Backyard playtime until dinner

-Backyard playtime after dinner

-Bath filled with brown water

I love summer. I wish it was much, much longer in the NW. MUCH, MUCH LONGER. I love God, Brian, my kids + family, my dog and sunshine. (In that order.)

Sunshine!

I won't lie, I almost didn't recognize it when I saw it. Sunshine? Could that possibly be sun shining here in the NW??? It's only the end of June? I was certain it had forgotten us, and that it would never return. But it did. IT DID FOLKS! We have had a couple of nice days in a row. (That is a big freaking deal around here.) What a great time to take advantage of the new backyard.

Please come back many more times Mr. Sunshine. We heart you!

RAIN

Rain. Rain. Rain. This has been a gross couple of months, at least, for us here in the NW. I am seriously considering moving to Hawaii or California ASAP. Rain = lame when you have little ones. Especially little ones in a house filled with boxes. July + August better be good to us in the weather department because I'm not sure how much more of this these Swishers will take. Today the twins went for a walk in the rain. They got all wet and had a blast, especially sweet Lila.

10,002

Reason #10,002 why dads rule...

There is no way in the world that this little lady could provide these experiences for these 2. Love you B!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things...

-When I ask the twins a question, and they respond, 'I don't know.'
-Lila's kisses.
-Lincoln's kisses.
-Brian's kisses.
-Laying the twins down in their beds at night--they say 'ni-ni' + wave 'bye-bye'.
-Chocolate chip cookies.
-Snuggling + chasing.
-Hand-sewn dresses.
-Raspberries.
-Sissy starting to call me 'ma-ma'.
-Jett's hand-me-downs.
-My lil' dude's smile. Melts. My. Heart.
-Yo, Gabba, Gabba. (Dear God, THANK YOU for this show. AMEN!)
-Sleeping through the night!!! (Almost always!)
-7pm bedtime. (Probably the best decision we have made as parents thus far.) :)

Every night before I shut my (completely exhausted) eyes, I take a moment to reflect on these days. Maybe the best days of my life. I am so thankful that I get to spend my day with two of the coolest people I know.

Conversations With My Mom

Me: 'Mom, why don't you go down lay down + relax for a while.'

Mom: 'I can't relax, there is too much to do.'

Me: 'Mother! You are on vacation, go relax.'

Mom: 'This doesn't feel like vacation, it feels like a missions trip.'
