Heat Wave

We are in the midst of a heat wave here in Seattle. Up here in the NW we are known for our mild climate, and ok maybe some rainy days. In fact, our climate is soooo mild many people don't have air conditioners. (People like us!) We are usually spoiled with beautiful 70-80 degree days in the summer and we are pretty pansy-esque when it comes to the HEAT. Especially people like Brian who are Washington born-and-bred. And Lila. And Lincoln. (Fear not California-friends, I'm ok with it.) But I have to admit, even I have a tough time when our house is 90 degrees on up. Blahhhh!

Brian installed a ghetto window A/C unit that is cooling off one room downstairs and we are currently spending all of our time there. Last night Brian and I slept downstairs with the babies, and we intend on doing that for the rest of the week. Making sweaty-Swisher memories. Here is a pic of our turds sleeping together once again a la pack-n-play. They haven't cuddled up since they were little so it was pretty cute!

Pacific Northwest Babies

We are taking full advantage of the beautiful weather we have had this summer. Today we went to a nearby farmer's market for some fresh/local goodies. YUM! Then we were off to Kopachuck State Park for a short hike, and to enjoy the gorgeous Puget Sound. The babies had fun dipping their piggies in the Sound. (These babies seem to love water!) Brian and I enjoyed it too!

I Heart Lincoln...

...and here is one of the reasons why!

I Wonder...

I wonder just how many kisses I give these babies everyday...and I wonder, can it ever be enough?!?!

Hello Swimming Pool

Lila + Lincoln + I got to tag along with Brian on a business trip to the Portland area this week. We had gorgeous weather and an impromptu swimming session at our hotel. We stripped the babies down and Brian jumped in with his shorts. (I, of course, was left out!) The babies loved their first experience in a real pool...

Hiking with Uno +Dos

FINALLY we were able to go hiking again. (Ok not really hiking, but trail-walking.) We were out in nature on a beautiful northwest day and the babies loved it. Mama and daddy were lovin' it too!

'My, Your Babies are Getting FAT!'

This is a comment we received the other day from a neighbor who hadn't seen the babies for a few weeks. Tactful right??? Anyway I wanted to shout WHOOOOOO-HOOOOOO in my loudest high-pitched voice because these babies are breastfed babies. (TMI...well get over it!) I have been nursing these babies from day 1, and initially I was unsure if, or even how long we could make it. But here we are....pushing 6 months and beginning to introduce solids. Simply amazing.

To all you nursing and/or formula-feeding mamas--YOU ROCK! The time it takes to feed a baby, no matter what method you are using is full-time job. We all deserve unlimited pedicures and massages as rewards. I will work on making that happen. (In all of my spare time.)

Thirty-Fun!

On Saturday my man turned thirty-FUN! (That would be 31 for all of you who are not Kels + Rustin.) I have very clear memories of when I thought 30 was old. CRAZY.
Anyway in honor of my man, here is a list of a few things that make me love him so. And everyone says awwwwww.

1. He is F.U.N.N.Y. Like bust-my-gut and pee my pants funny.
2. He has dead-on impersonations of Mike Tyson, Aaron Neville and certain family members that shall remain nameless.
3. He reaches all the high things.
4. He has helped @ EVERY SINGLE feeding for our twins during the nights. EVERY SINGLE ONE.
5. He fixes the broken things.
6. Ok if he can't fix it, (very rare), he is man enough to call someone who can.
7. He eats every crazy meal I make. (He does eat around the tofu though.)
8. He keeps me humble. I mean the guy NEVER runs out of short jokes for/about me.
9. He busts his butt so I can be a mama.
10. He picks up the dog poo.
11. He opens the door for me. (If you are a follower of this blog, you know!)
12. He is nice. Genuinely nice to everyone.
13. He loves my family.
14. He put my boots on everyday when I couldn't reach over my pregnant belly.
15. He challenges me to try new things.
16. He doesn't laugh (too hard) when we shoot hoop together.
17. He watches the babies so I can get a pedicure or eyebrow wax on occasion.
18. He understands that it SUCKS being far away from my family.
19. He makes the bed.
20. We have a mutual love-affair with Mexican food.
21. He puts up w/ a sassy, carefree, sarcastic little thing. And loves me anyway!

Happy Birthday Business! xoxxo

Eight is Great

Eight years ago I officially became Lil' Swish. We so enjoyed the ceremony and dancing the night away at our reception. We remember being on our honeymoon and looking at our new rings, and trying to wrap our minds around our new roles...husband + wife?!? Fast forward 8 years and here we are! Our marriage has been perfectly imperfect, and we intend to keep it that way. When you get married at the tender age of 22, yes I repeat 22, you have a lot of growing up to do. We are committed to do that growing up together. We have had a blast--traveled, bought a house, got a dog, made babies and created a little Swisher-life together. It hasn't all been roses, we have had our fair share of challenges too. (Hence the perfectly imperfect part.) But those challenges seem to make the good times even sweeter.

Friends and family, always keep us accountable. If we ever forget these things, or decide it's a good idea to take one another for granted, please feel free to knock us upside our heads. Hard. Very, very hard.

Cheers! (And Bubby you rock!)

Summer Fun

When it gets too hot...go swimming! Lilee and Lincoln got to go swimming for the first time during the Seattle heat-wave. Lucca was in town so she got to join the party. Adorable!

Testing the water...

She liked it...

He did too...

Our Little Firecrackers...

NW Trek

NW Trek is soooo much fun. Almost always worth the drive down Meridian. (Although w/ 3 babies in tow it is somewhat questionable.) L + L + L were verrry good.

Lila had fun...

Lucca liked the bears...

& Lincoln liked hangin' w/ Grammie...

Be sure to ask Kels and/or Rus about the tram ride. It was their FAVORITE!

Tia Kelsey

We love Tia Kelsey. (Probably because Mama loves her so much too!) We wish she lived next door to us. Perhaps someday...
