December Daily #10

Today we made soup.

Linc told us hot soup was perfect for this cold, wintery day.
{You just have to adore that kid.}
They helped chop the carrots, celery + fennel.
They peeled the onions, poured the stock and measured and dumped the herbs.
They added the tomatoes and beans.
3 year olds are highly capable..
And they sure do love helping.

I've taught these kids to write their names on every paper.
You can take the teacher out of the classroom...

Lila makes rainbow everything now.
I just love it!

Don't you just love Lincoln's face here?

I told Lila while they were working I was thinking about taking her to the beauty salon to cut a few inches off her hair...
she broke down in tears that she did NOT want to cut her hair again.
WHAT?!
She will be going soon though because her hair is getting stuck in her pants again.
That's how we measure when it's time.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know my whole goal was to get out of this get up today.
I did finally at about 2.
I'm about to go put it back on.

Brian is one lucky dude.

December Daily #9

This is the only picture I took today.
I enjoyed both of these seasonal beverages tonight.

Oh, I'm living it up!  We had our sitter come over to watch the twins while we had a lovely dinner with some lovely friends in lovely Gig Harbor.

That's a whole lot of loveliness.

In case you are wondering both were quite delicious.
The ruby + tonic was my fav.
My goodness was it delightful.
The fresh cranberry beauty was amazing as well.

Having grown up time is refreshing.
So very, very refreshing.

December Daily #8

{Don't stop me, I'm on roll with these December posts}

The Swisher annual Bunco party was tonight.
Why do these kids continue to get so dang big?!
Will someone please give us a baby???
...or 2 or 3 or 10???
Brian + I will gladly take them all.

I turned around during the car ride and found our turds sitting like this.
Crazy Uncle Rus pointed out how thrilled Lincoln looks about this situation.

And lastly, our sweet Jezebelle.
Jez has certainly had us worried as of late.
She's been sick, injured and just acting old.
We love this broke-down gal.
And clearly, she thinks (knows) who runs this joint.

I'm exhausted and ready to go to sleep.
But gosh darnnit, Brian just found a documentary about Bo Jackson on ESPN.
I love me some Bo Jackson, so perhaps I can hold out a few more minutes to hang with the big guy.

Is everyone doing good?
Enjoying the holiday season??

December Daily #7

This is our 3rd year in Gig Harbor.
And our 3rd year taking a hayride with this Santa around the downtown part of our little city.

This year we went with a couple of L + L's favorite friends.

Lincoln told Santa he wanted the Bat Cave.
Little does he know that Santa must have already told that to Grammie.
(Who had a Kohls coupon.)
Check.
We couldn't hear what Lila told Santa.
But if I were to guess....
...princess something, a jewelry box, pretty dresses, etc.

Earlier in the day we went to a birthday party.

Only one lucky dude was invited to spend his afternoon with 4 lovely ladies at a Strawberry Shortcake themed event.
They chose the most handsome boy they could find.

I really adore these people.
Even if there is a whole lot of crazy in this picture/family.

December Daily #6

Oh, the mess that is small children.
Here is a snapshot of our lives.

Lila always wakes up first from nap.
Always.
I think she likes the extra mama-time.
That AND she doesn't want to miss a thing.
So we hang.
And today I snapped a picture.

I broke out the glitter today.
If my house was burning down, I would grab:
Brian,
The Twins,
Jezebelle,
Our laptop...
and MY GLITTER.

We don't preschool.
We project.
A lot.
Especially at Christmas time.

I am mostly patient when we do these types of activites.
Mostly.
But sometimes I freaking freak my freak!
Because I am human after all.

And Lila is creative.
(Doesn't really follow directions)
(Marches to her own beat.)
I love her ever so.

And Linc is a perfectionist.
I have to remind him it is okay if he colors outside of the lines.
It's no big deal if he makes a 'mistake'.
Sometimes I want him to NOT to follow directions.

Twins are so fun.
Twins are like everyone else, so very different.

Here is Brian leaving to coach basketball for his first time ever tonight.
And he is this guys hero.

I sure do love these guys.

Did someone say Christmas projects???

I'm in.

Don't you just love the faces kids make when they are at concentration station?

Precious.

December Daily#4

Our book advent calendar tradition has become one of our faves.

I love Christmas!
I love books!
And you all know how much I love these turds!
