December Daily #18

Tis' the season of Christmas concerts.

My sweet + sick twins sang their little hearts out tonight at their preschool program.

Lila spoke in the microphone for her angel part.  She was adorable...and also kept bopping the little angel next to her all night with her angel wings as she enthusiastically did the hand motions.  And then wiped her snot all over the robe. Again + again.

When Lincoln wasn't singing he was turning around and staring at the boy behind him who was yelling all the songs.  Until it was time for Feliz Navidad.  Then he danced his little heart out complete with the hula hips.  You should all see the hula hips!

Thanks to Nanny + Papa for making the drive to watch the cuteness.  They sure
loved having you there!

December Daily #17

Today was...

....A sweet, sick boy who missed school + a play date.
He got the VIP treatment from mom and dad though.

...A growing boy who is the most delicious little turd ever.

...And a fun little gal who was wiped out after playing with her buddy.

Christmas shopping is done.
Hallelujah.

December Daily #16

Brians first official day of vacation.  Yay!
(Subsequently kinda mine too.). YAY!!

My guy works hard all year to take these weeks off for some R + R and our family time.

Two naps for him today.
He deserves 3.
I did leave him home with the kids for an hour so I could run an errand.
He was thrilled.  (Sarcasm people!)
While I was making dinner tonight, I heard a big sigh and him mutter something to the effect of, 'All I've done is hold a baby since 1 o'clock today!'

In all seriousness, I'm so thankful that Brian has the next couple of weeks off.
I love hanging out with that guy!

...And so do they.

December Daily #15

I feel pretty confident that we have the only elf, maybe ever, named Elwin.
Her name is just so perfect.
And I smile every time the kids say it.

[of course Elwin was my grandma krug's name.]. :)

December Daily #14

We had our annual Swisher family Christmas party today.
Bunco.
White elephant.
Potluck-style.
And a whole lot of kids.
Where did all those kids come from?!
I think this was the first year there were more kids than adults.
My.
Here are the cousins at the end of the party.  Landon said he couldn't even smile at this point because he was too tired.
Silly little turds.

B hit the jackpot with his white elephant gift.  Buffalo plaid is so on trend.

December Daily #13

The twins each have a small tree in their rooms.
I noticed that Brian wrapped my Grandma Masters blanket around Lila's as a skirt last week and thought it was just so adorable.
Today I asked him when he did that and he said he hadn't.
He thought I did.
Nope.
Come to find out, it was Lila.
That Pearl.  So creative, so smart, so observant.
My girl.

This is the December pic for the Krug family calendar.
I just love looking at this picture every day.
I love all those dudes.
A lot.

Today was Christmas cookie day.  And sis was my best helper.
Give this girl a task, and she thrives.
She loves to work.  She loves to feel helpful.  She appreciates working together, side by side with me.

As I surprise, I downloaded the Frozen soundtrack for the kids today.
The listened to it start to finish 2 times in a row.
They just loooooved it.
Lila was mesmerized by the music.
At one point, I noticed she was listening with her eyes closed.  I asked just what in the world she was doing.  She told me she was using her imagination while the music played.
Lincoln told me the exact part in the movie that the song was played.
Fun to see how music impacts each of them.

Decorating the cookies before...

...and we're done.
The kids have gotten A LOT better at decorating since last year.
Santa would be wise to stop by the Swishers tonight.

December Daily #12

There she is.
 In all her evergreen glory.

Here are 5 quick things you should know:

1.  Brian's last day of work for the year is tomorrow.  We wait for this day all year!

2.  Tonight I went to my 2nd of 3 Christmas parties this week.  Yikes.

3.  Kids are cray this time of year, no?!

4.  Buying {Christmas} gifts for people should not be a stressful thing.

5.  If your children, {or mine}, are feeling the frenzy of the holidays, we are doing it all wrong people.
