Unicorns

An outdoor birthday party in the rain in SoCal is like seeing a unicorn.

We saw a unicorn today.

It was one of the best parties ever.

These kiddos were soaked to the bone.
Great memories indeed.

Getting Loud

When I'm angry, I rarely yell.
Ever.
It's not my thing.
I hate yelling in fact.
I don't like to yell, definitely don't appreciate being yelled at; even being in the presence of yelling makes me extremely uncomfortable.
I'm very sensitive to loud-seemingly-agitated voices.

And I have passed that trait on to my kids.
Thankyouverymuch.

Which makes this letter I received this AM especially hilarious...
I love you mom.
If you would not yell at me.
I am so sorry.
Will you forgive me?

I love kids.

Brian fulfilled yet another one of my dreams tonight.
A real fire in our very own fire place.
Dreamy.

Every morning when our 3 children get up in the 6 AM hour, B + I feel a lot like this...
...especially lately.
We all have the holiday hangover, and some lingering cold, plus a lot of late nights.
We are hoping for a good night of rest for our entire family tonight.

The twins + I squeezed some oranges from the backyard and had some delicious and super-sweet juice for breakfast.

It was a sticky, messy + fun start to the day.

New Year, New Tradition

It's a new year!
Whoop, whoop!
The past 4 years we had walked The Narrows bridge on New Year's Day.  Whether it be cold, gray, misty, freezing or even raining...we started off the year with that fun tradition.
And we loved it.

So this year we needed to create a new tradition.
And we happily did.

Torrey Pines is pretty much...well, it's a freaking gem.
We collected treasures, chased waves, climbed rocks and enjoyed the views.
The breathtaking views.
After we were done, we grabbed a snack of shakes + and fries from In-n-Out and headed home to watch some football.
It was a good day.
A really good one.
