3 Loves

Colt is dreamy.
This boy lights up when I walk in the room.
His eyes twinkle and his smile is instant.
I have to say, it is pretty dang awesome.
The feeling is mutual.
Obviously.

My girl has been so wonderful the past week.
So wonderful.
And kind.
And helpful.
And funny.
She also almost knocked herself out on the coffee table this week.
Obviously.

Oh, Lincoln.
I've never met a dude who like to play more.
He made a lever and pulley system over our stairs yesterday and has been
taking things up and down ever since.
School, eating, going to the bathroom and cleaning up all get in the way of PLAYING.
Obviously.

Weekly Colt

The Colt-man in a blurry photo is perfect for this week.

This dude is a-changing!

More alert.  More awake!
Rolling tummy to back and back to tummy.

Scooting!
(Shut the front door, am I right?!)
Do all 17 week old babies scoot!?  Causes my twins didn't.
This guy is just ready to go.

Squealing.  Babbling.  Laughing.

Loves to be naked.

This dude is funny.
He gets it, he truly does.

Sunday Night Blues

Getting a little case of the SNB's around here.

My guy's first full week back at work and I'm going to miss him.
And the extra set of hands he provides.
Because we have a lot of kids!!!

We had sunshine today.
Freezing, cold, glorious sunshine.
[But I'll take that any day over the rain.]

We had an at home jammie day today.
I'm still in mine!
We emptied piggie banks: sorted and rolled the change.
173.00 for Lincoln and 173.50 for Lila
We watched football.
Laundry.
Changed sheets.
Snuggled the baby.
Frozen soundtrack all day!  Everyday!
Pizza for dinner.
Played with Christmas toys.
LAZY.

And the twins told us about 100 times what a fun day it was.

Living the dream.

On Friday afternoon, while the twins napped, I had about a billion things I wanted to get done.

This is what I did...

I guess there was only one thing that truly needed to be done.

I will never remember my to-do list on that day.

Truthfully, I can't even remember it one day later.

But a sweet baby sleeping in my arms, that my friends is unforgettable.

Oh, The Things They Say

Listen, a month from today our twins are turning 5.
But for your safety and my sanity DO NOT MENTION IT TO ME.
I will cry.
And then I will hurt you for reminding me.
And then I'll probably cry some more.

There are just a few words left that one of the twins mispronounces.
And they just happen to be some of my favorites.
I intend on never correcting them.
They will be self-corrected before we know it.
So in the meantime, B + I just smile when it happens.
Smile AND forever change the words in our vocabulary to the
words the twins say that bring us so much joy.

Here are the ones I remembered tonight...
Brecause : because
Breakpast : breakfast
Restauronk : restaurant
Last day : yesterday
Renember : remember
Tavle : table
Strawberry Cortcake : Strawberry Shortcake
The Nerfs :  The Smurfs

[Restauronk + brecause are my personal favorites.]

Happy New Year

Can I just say, it's not Happy New YearS?!

I had many people say or write that to me.  It's just one new year people...singular.

My.

Moving right along, our tradition since moving to the Harbor has been walking the Narrows bridge on January1st.
But this time it was verrrrry cold.
And gray.
Such a NW clichè, I know!

It's always fun to be outside with my family.  Even on days like this. We got back to our car with frozen fingers and snotty noses and headed to a local diner for breakfast.

We are starting this year with no sweets or treats for 7 days!  It's a fun family challenge that gets us back in our regular eating routine and away from all of the  treats of the holiday season.

I love that L + L are old enough to understand this and be excited about our goal.  They even turned down candy and Popsicles from our neighbors tonight by saying 'maybe next time'.

I love those rascals!

Swoon

I just thought you should all know that being Lincoln's mom feels like Christmas morning every day.
Lincoln is a super-stud.
Trust me, he is.
Tender hearted + sensitive.
Brave + strong.
Smart and wise.  Serious.
Compassionate. Analytical.
Fun-loving.  Adventurous.
Imaginative.  Kind.
Hard worker.  GOOD worker.
Handsome.  Oh, he so handsome.

He is just all kinds of wonderful.

In a nation full of demasculinized men, this dude will stand out.

He is a treasure.

And you better believe that I have been  thanking the good Lord every day of the last 4 1/2 years that I get to be his mama!

Because I would feel the exact same way about him if I wasn't.
